7 Day Gerd Diet Plan with Menu
Gerd is never good news as you will experience symptoms that are pretty hard to get rid of. There is a chance that you will experience chest pain and even heartburn so you’d want to do something about that before it is too late. The good news is that there is a 7 day Gerd diet plan with menu that you can try in order to avoid experiencing the symptoms of GERD. There are plenty of things that can cause GERD. One of them is obesity so you should always watch what you eat and it should not be a bit too much so you would not get that many problems. Another thing would be smoking and we all know how this habit causes a lot of horrible things so you better watch out. Remember to also avoid drinking too much alcohol as it is evident doing something that is a bit too much can be bad for your health.
There are a few ways the doctors can suggest treating GERD like prescribed medications. The only problem is that these things can cause a bit of heartburn especially when you are not really familiar with the side effects that these things bring to the table. There is a possibility that the doctor would recommend surgery but this is a bit too expensive and it is possible it only has short-term effects. The good news is that it would only be recommended for cases where other recommendations did not really work. It would be better to just change your lifestyle and not rely too much on medications. The food you are going to eat is low in acid, low sugar, and high in protein. The foods are also low in sodium and low in unhealthy fats. It is evident you will most likely need to say goodbye to some of the foods you’ve grown to love. Keep in mind you are doing this for the sake of your future. The last thing you would want to happen is for your health to suffer.
Day 1
For breakfast, it would be wonderful to start off the day with oatmeal. As for lunch, it is a garden salad. If you are not used to eating those foods then you will get hungry at some point. Don’t worry because you can have a banana or an apple in the middle of the afternoon. For dinner, it is baked fish with lots of vegetables that will make you want to crave a whole lot more.
Day 2
Start off the day with egg white omelet because the yolk contains a ton of calories that you would not want to be a part of. For lunch, you can be familiar with low-grain bread because it will be what you would use for your turkey sandwich. For your snacks, you must munch on low-fat yoghurt and then chicken breast with brown rice and vegetables for dinner. Health experts would always stress how the breast part is the healthiest so it is no surprise how that is the one included there.
Day 3
The good news is that you will start the day with whole-grain toast that will have peanut butter and banana on it. Don’t forget to not put too much of it though. For lunch, it would be none other than a tuna sandwich on whole-grain bread. It is no surprise how whole-grain bread is used a lot in this diet because of how healthy it is. Dinner is something worth waiting for because it is roast beef with mashed potatoes and vegetables. If that sounds delicious, that’s because it is as long as you cook it right. Before that, you can snack on vegetables that would soothe your cravings.
Day 4
Better get your blenders out because you will have a fruit smoothie for breakfast. This is the time when you can become a bit creative with what you will put in the smoothie. After all, it is just a matter of time before you have lunch which is a green salad with chicken. In case you’ve noticed, there is not a hint of white rice in this meal plan. For snacks, you can have string cheese and then spaghetti for dinner.
Day 5
It is oatmeal once again for breakfast which is not a surprise since it is a healthy way to start the day. When it comes to lunch, you will be having chicken wrap with lettuce and low fat sauce. It is quite obvious some sauces are full of sugar so better avoid those things as much as possible. For snacks, it’s carrot with ranch dressing and for dinner, it is salmon with green beans and quinoa. For those who don’t know, quinoa is a pretty addicting and much healthier version of rice.
Day 6
Start off the day with Frittata with vegetables then Cobb salad with chicken for lunch. Make sure that the chicken is grilled and not fried as fried chicken contains tons of unsaturated fats. There is nothing like eating popcorn while watching your favorite TV shows and that is exactly what is going to happen here because you can have popcorn as your snacks as long as you don’t put too much butter and cheese. For dinner, it is going to be something nice as it is grilled steak with potatoes and veggies.
Day 7
The last day includes more of the same as it is yoghurt for breakfast and a turkey sandwich for lunch. For dinner, it is chicken curry but before that you can have veggies for snacks.
Now that you are familiar with the 7 day gerd diet plan with menu, you should keep in mind that it would be a lot better to cook the above menu options at home. After all, restaurants can put some unknown ingredients in your food just to make it more delicious. Some old people would say the delicious ones are the same things that are going to kill you.
